THESE PAGES ARE GRAPHICS INTENSIVE: BE PATIENT MODEM DIALERS!
Created: Wednesday, September 01, 2004 |
This set of paintings and drawings - 1975 - 1978 - started to move away from the minimalist approach in mid 1975 and gravitated toward a linear concept. I began a series of pieces related to drawing and line; Red-X pcs, Road pcs, and combos. This approach and results captured my interest most deeply and these three years produce a very large volume of work; both on paper and canvas with the same media. Also the themes, upon reflection, would weave in-and-out of each other freely. Therefore, to place the work in any form of linear progression is impossible - it didn't unravel that way at the time. The pieces presented in this archive are simply the ones that I still respond to very deeply ala 2001. The media of involvement ran the gammot: pencil, graphite, charcoal, pastel, conte, nupastel, oil sticks and oil paint on paper.... oil and acrylic on canvas and linen. |
