What I am calling the NEW PAPERS project began in March 2000. Primary focus at the beginning was acrylic polymer on various paper types. Breaking it down further, acrylic monoprints using polyethylene plates were introduced. These polyethylene plates are actually what I use as portable palettes. Once this palette is no longer useful for a particular painting session… the paint is re-arranged on the plate, some colors at times were added for focal reasons, then the plate pressed onto a fresh piece of paper.
Work on canvas began in April 2001. Image closely relates to the structure in the papers. Plans are to add a sculpture feature to this project during the summer-fall 2001. Painted wood will be the medium. |
