Thursday, March 17, 2005 Modern Eye Gallery presents “Non-Objective Energies”, a group show celebrating the diversity of abstract expression in painting by seven artists. The exhibit features the work of Gary Janis, Christina Quinn, Olof Sorensen, Harkrader, David Freeman, and introduces the work of two new artists in the gallery, Brian Adgate and David Novak. The show will run from March 19th through April 30th.The goal of this exhibit is to highlight the different interpretations of the non-objective world. Each artist in the show has chosen or created a unique vernacular in which to express the abstract, both visually and stylistically. Color, form, and light combine in styles ranging from the geometric to the expressionistic. Painting is the medium of choice of the artists. The desire to create emotion within the viewer through non-representational expression is the unifying element among the artists. Modern Eye Gallery Director Ron Crider writes:David Novak brings a fresh approach to visual geometry in his work. More narrative than purely geometric, his work reflects movement and stillness all in one. The colors are bright and audacious while the imagery is subtle and controlled.
